The NJCA (New Japanese Canadian Association) annual BBQ was held at the Toronto Japanese Canadian Ci\ultural Centre on August 23.
It was chaotic during the preparations and during the BBQ. Yet, once the dust was cleared, we saw a very successful BBQ party. Everyone ate well, everyone met old friends as well as new ones, everyone enjoyed the games, and everyone visted the exciting booths.
Obviously, this successful BBQ was only possible by the support of many volunteers. We were very fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers this year again.
We believe the BBQ accomplished its objectives by providing the members of the Japanese Canadian Community the opportunity to know each other and create the sense of a community.
We lost money this year (again!) but we strongly believe that we provided something more than money could buy in the BBQ....
８月２３日、日系文化会館での移住者協会恒例の夏のＢＢＱパーティ。
すべてのドタバタが終り振り返って見れば、誰もがたっぷり食べ、会話がはずみ、友達に再会し、新しい友達に巡り合い、ゲームを充分に楽しみ、ブースには人が群がり、素晴らしいＢＢＱに終ったと思う。
このＢＢＱの成功は、言うまでもなく、数多くのボランティアの助けなくしてはありえない物だ。今年は例年にまさる大勢の献身的なボランティアに恵まれた。
今年の移住者協会ＢＢＱも、その目的である、日系社会の中での幅広い人々の親睦を計り、意思の疎通を助け、情報交換の手助けをする、という目的を充分に果たしたと思う。今回もＢＢＱ決算は赤字となったが、その赤字をカバーするに充分な物をＢＢＱは皆さんに提供したと信じている。

The volunteers in the kitchen had to put extra efforts to feed the hungry crowd who just ate and ate and ate.... Big thanks to the volunteers!
参加者が多かったから食べ物の量ももすごいもの。キッチンのボランティアの人達ご苦労さまでした。
