The NJCA (New Japanese Canadian Association) annual BBQ was held at the Toronto Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre on August 29.
This annual BBQ party is now one of the major summer events in the Japanese Canadian community in Toronto. We had more people, more booths and kiosks and more excitment this year than ever!
It was again chaotic during the preparations and during the BBQ party. Yet, once the dust was cleared, we saw a very successful BBQ party again. Everyone ate well, everyone met old friends as well as new ones, everyone enjoyed the games, and everyone visted the exciting booths and kiosks.
Obviously, this successful BBQ was only possible by the support of many volunteers. We were very fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers this year again. Thank you all!
We believe the BBQ accomplished its objectives by providing the members of the Japanese Canadian Community the opportunity to know each other and create the sense of a community......
８月２９日、日系文化会館での移住者協会恒例の夏のＢＢＱパーティ。
このＢＢＱパーティは日系社会での夏の重要な行事のひとつになりました。今年も去年よりも多くの参加者と出店と活気とで楽しいパーティとなりました。
すべてのドタバタが終り振り返って見れば、誰もがたっぷり食べ、会話がはずみ、友達に再会し、新しい友達に巡り合い、ゲームを充分に楽しみ、ブースには人が群がり、素晴らしいＢＢＱに終ったと思います。
このＢＢＱの成功は、言うまでもなく、数多くのボランティアの助けなくしてはありえない物です。今年は例年にまさる大勢の献身的なボランティアに恵まれました。ありがとう！
今年の移住者協会ＢＢＱも、その目的である、日系社会の中での幅広い人々の親睦を計り、意思の疎通を助け、情報交換の手助けをする、という目的を充分に果たしたと思います…。

The volunteers in the kitchen had to put extra efforts to feed the hungry crowd who just ate and ate and ate.... Big thanks to the volunteers!
